Staff at Monkey World ape rescue centre in Dorset were delighted this week when one of the endangered woolly monkeys gave birth to a little baby monkey. Young Bueno Junior was welcomed into the world this week and has been the best Christmas gift that the staff could have hoped for.
The baby endangered woolly monkey is just one of a few who have been born in captivity, delivered after staff noticed that his mother Sara was having contractions. Bueno Junior is a tiny bundle of joy, weighing just 450g at birth, and will be hand-reared for 5 months until he can happily join one of the groups of woolly monkeys at Monkey World.
The great work of the Monkey World staff and the cute monkeys themselves have made the ape rescue centre a favourite with those staying in holiday cottages in Dorset, and with the birth of Bueno Junior, there is every reason to go and visit Monkey World soon.
