There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
Those thinking of heading off on Dorset cottage holidays in the future will soon find an extra reason to go to the beautiful county; Dorset Wildlife Trust has recently been granted £85,900 in Heritage Lottery Funding.
This funding is due to go towards the improvement of access to green spaces close to urban areas in Dorset. Known as the Wildlink project, Dorset Wildlife Trust is working with conservation organisations, private landowners, the local community and local authorities to improve access to some of the county's beauty spots and examples of natural wildlife.
£1.6 million has already been raised by the Dorset Wildlife Trust towards the project, which is believed to now be £500,000 away from the target. Plans for the project include the purchase of 581 hectares of land which will improve access to Upton Heath, Ferndown and Parley Commons, Corfe Mullen and Poole. Access to the harbour and shoreline at Holes and Lytchett Bay will also be enhanced.
