There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
The Dorset Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers are offering those enjoying Dorset cottage holidays in January the chance to delve into the secrets of their craft. Holy Trinity Parish hall in Dorchester will be opening its doors on 26th January for people to come and have a go at these age-old craft techniques.
The Dorset Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers Open Day will offer both locals and those visiting the area the chance to learn about other crafts associated with the guild apart from spinning, weaving and dyeing. These practices from a bygone era hold a great deal of mystery for many of us who are used to simply buying clothing and other woven goods from shops.
Admission is free to this great event and under 16s must be accompanied by adults, but all are welcome to come and have a go at any of the crafts between 11am and 3.30pm. There will also be plenty of craft stalls where visitors can take a piece of the Guild home with them and kids can get involved too with the special children's workshop.
