There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
With the UK experiencing some of the hottest weather in years, many people are deciding to stay in the British Isles this year and one of the most popular destinations is sure to be Dorset. The beautiful county of Dorset not only has some affordable English country cottages on offer and stunning countryside to explore, but the county also boasts a number of events and here we have listed our favourites for August.
Great Dorset Chilli Festival
If you like hot, spicy food or are just a food lover in general, then the fourth Dorset Chilli Festival is certainly a must-visit. St Giles Park, which is the home of the Earl of Shaftesbury, will host the family-friendly event and with live music, chilli-eating competitions, cooking demonstrations, talks on growing chillies and a whole host of stalls selling a variety of chillies, peppers and other foods, there certainly is plenty for you to enjoy. The hottest festival around kicks-off on Saturday 2nd August and ends on Sunday 3rd August. Advanced tickets for the event cost £5.50 for adults and £2 for children – visit the website here.
Weymouth Carnival 2014
On Wednesday 20th August the Weymouth Carnival begins and organisers have revealed that the well-known event will be bigger and better than ever before. The free-to-attend carnival will have aerial displays, fireworks and, of course, the grand procession for families to enjoy. To get the latest news about the event visit the Weymouth Carnival website
