Are you planning on visiting Hampshire and The New Forest this summer? You’re in for a treat with all...
February brings a number of celebrations with it, including Valentine's Day and Shrove Tuesday, otherwise known as Pancake Day. Those enjoying Dorset cottage holidays in February can get stuck in with some family fun at Wimborne Minster Pancake Race.
An annual competition held at Minster Church in Wimborne, the Pancake Race is great fun to both watch and participate in. The event is scheduled for 12th February and begins at 11am. Competitors need to sign up at the North Porch by 10.30am, and be ready with a frying pan and cooked pancake. The first heat will begin at the toll of the pancake bell and the racing will continue until a champion is crowned.
Adults could be in for the chance to win The Old Bakehouse Cafe Perpetual Challenge Cup, and the first junior competitor to cross the line will win themselves £25. There are plenty more categories to enter, including team and school group, and all are welcome to attend this excellent free event.
