There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
With Christmas just around the corner, it is also time to start thinking of where to go and what to do on New Year's Eve. For those staying in English country cottages around Bath, the Bath Philharmonia will be providing a classy evening of beautiful music.
The New Year's Eve Gala at the Theatre Royal Bath is the perfect opportunity to welcome 2013 in spectacular fashion. From 10pm until the moment itself, the Bath Philharmonia will be accompanying award-winning violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen and Kate Symonds-Joy, a mezzo-soprano with an extraordinary voice.
A number of beautiful pieces will be performed, including Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story Suite and Candide Overture, classics by Verdi, Strauss, Bizet and Rossini and a stupendous finale in the form of Parry's Jerusalem, Rule Britannia, Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance and, of course, Auld Lang Syne. Tickets range from £28-£36.50 and can be booked by calling 01225 448844.
