There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
February brings Mardi Gras to New Orleans and an equivalent celebration to the coastal town of Hastings. “Fat Tuesday” celebrates freedom before the restrictions of lent, and in the run up to Tuesday 12 February, a number of exciting events are going on in Hastings.
Now a full 5-day festival, Fat Tuesday celebrations begin on 8 February with a free launch party of funky jazz music at Jenny Lind. The fun continues on Saturday with cakes, live music and a free umbrella decorating workshop during the day and an African Mardi Gras party during the night.
Sunday will see an array of colour fill the town for the Umbrella Parade, beginning at 12 noon from Chess Square, and a barbecue and more live music in the evening. Monday brings a laid back evening of blues music before the biggest celebration on Fat Tuesday; a circuit of free gigs and an exciting after show party.
There is plenty going on this month for those staying in holiday cottages in Sussex to enjoy, whether you are looking for a relaxing break or a cottage holiday full of fun and good times.
