There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
October hails the start of the oyster dredging season, and there is no better way to celebrate this important time of year for local fishermen than at Falmouth Oyster Festival.
From 11th-14th October, the festival will take over Discovery Quay in Falmouth. Both locals and those staying in holiday cottages in Cornwall can celebrate the diversity of Cornish Seafood, particularly the continuation of the last existing traditional oyster fishery in Europe.
The festival will be started off with a cookery masterclass from a renowned chef, and the event is only warming up as the following days will include a jam-packed list of talks, demonstrations and performances. Cookery demonstrations from local chefs will provide the opportunity to learn about how to use seafood in everyday dishes, and oysters, seafood, wine and ale can all be sampled throughout the festival.
There is plenty more going on and the full list of events can be found here, but, in any case, anyone staying in Cornwall should head to Discovery Quay in Falmouth at some point between 11th and 14th October for a great day out.
