Culture lovers who are staying in Wiltshire cottages this September are in for a real treat and could possibly see history in the making! 14th-30th September this year will see the first Trowbridge Arts Festival take place.
This is a brand new festival that is dedicated to showcasing all genres of art as well as celebrating the local heritage of Wiltshire. The 2 weeks of entertainment will see some amazing and varied performances, exhibitions and presentations, including talks with crime author Val McDermid, fantasy author Juliet McKenna, and a performance from comedian Lee Hurst.
There will be plenty of free events to attend where visitors can learn about different arts and crafts, or even try them out, such as bell ringing, Islamic calligraphy, guitar playing and weaving. Various musical performances will also be happening, and although the festival is only in its first year, it looks ready to become one of the UK’s biggest arts festivals.
This is just a sample of what is going on and the full list is available here. There is something for everyone, so go online and take a look at what events might capture your interest this September.
