Now that we’re entering spring, with the Easter holidays in sight, there’s plenty to get excited about in March. This is certainly no different if you’re heading away to stay in one of our cosy Wiltshire holiday cottages, as the county is boasting a wealth of events that are sure to keep you occupied this month.
The Vintage Bazaar, Devizes
As the organiser’s first event of 2015, this wonderful fair is highly anticipated among those with an interest in all things vintage. With stalls selling a variety of goods ranging from beautiful fabrics and clothing to home décor and books, there’s plenty to browse at the Vintage Bazaar, which is taking place on Saturday 7th March in the Corn Exchange. Stall holders include Loulabelle Vintage Fashion, Savoy Art Deco and Stefanie Austin – the Queen of Liberty Fabric, to name just a few. The fair will be open from 9.30am until 3.30pm and will cost £2 entry per adult.
Abbey House Gardens Opening
As part of the National Gardens Scheme, Abbey House Gardens will be opening a week early on Saturday March 15th in order to raise money for charity. The gardens, which are maintained by the famous Naked Gardeners, Ian and Barbara Pollard, will be able to be visited again by the public after being closed during the winter. Boasting five spectacular acres, the stunning displays of flowers and plants are the perfect way to embrace the arrival of spring.
Easter at Roves Farm
At the end of March, Roves Farm in Swindon will be celebrating Easter with a number of activities, including a bunny hunt which the whole family can get involved in. Children will also be encouraged to get creative, with craft sessions to produce Easter cards and pictures, as well as fluffy chicks. During a trip to the 166 hectare working farm, visitors will also be able to see more than 120 baby lambs, which were born earlier this year in January.
