Porthcurno Telegraph Museum receives Funding

One of the most popular museums in West Cornwall is celebrating after it was awarded a £100,000 grant to modernise it. Porthcurno Telegraph Museum will be undergoing an update that will benefit the many people who visit the museum every year.

Porthcurno Telegraph Museum has a very important past; early wireless communication developed here, it was the hub of international cable communication for 100 years, and is now the last remaining working cable station in the world.

The museum aims to have as many exhibitions as possible in full working order so that visitors can see how the telegraph was used in as much detail as possible, and there are plenty of other fun activities to get involved with along the way. The funding will be spent on developing a new learning centre and keeping these exhibitions in top working order.

This is just one of the many interesting things to do when staying in Cornwall cottages, and thanks to funding like this Cornwall’s greatest attractions can be enjoyed for many years to come.
