National Maritime Museum wins large attraction award

Those staying in holiday cottages in Cornwall are spoilt for choice when it comes to great attractions, as the recent Cornwall Tourism Awards 2012 have revealed.

Ahead of the Tate St Ives art gallery and Cotehele gardens and mansion, the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth came away with one of the most prestigious awards of the night: large visitor attraction of the year. With some fascinating permanent exhibitions and a regular update of exciting temporary displays, such as the search and rescue blockbuster exhibition, this museum really brings the world of the sea to life.

The small team who run the museum were ecstatic to win the award, putting much of the credit of their win down to “working ferociously hard to think outside the box”. Interactive features, a delightful cafe and plenty to entertain people of all ages, it is certainly worth paying the National Maritime Museum a visit whilst enjoying a holiday in Cornwall.
