Hampshire Gardens Enjoy Success at Chelsea Flower Show

Hampshire did especially well at the Chelsea Flower Show this year, with gardeners from the county winning five gold awards in total. Hillier Nurseries and Garden Centre in Ampfield led the charge, winning gold in its category for the 67th year in a row. Other winners from Hampshire were Sparsholt College, Hampshire Carnivorous Plants, based in Fair Oak, Beautiful Furzey Gardens in the New Forest and Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants in Whitchurch.

If you’ve ever stayed in one of our English country cottages in Hampshire, you’ll know the county has some beautiful gardens, so it’s no wonder that displays produced by the green-fingered residents have been recognised at this prestigious show.

If you haven’t been, then now is the perfect chance. The county is full of some wonderful gardens and parkland, and is at its best during late spring and summer, providing beautiful surroundings for a relaxing day out.
