Explore Dorset on the Winter Wildlife Survival Trail

There is no better place than the wilderness of Dorset to learn survival skills, and no better time than winter to see the wilderness at its most beautiful and most difficult. From now until 6th January, the Winter Wildlife Survival Trail at Avon Heath is the perfect way to spend a fun day exploring and learning about England's magnificent natural landscape.

Running everyday except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, experts have created an adventure trail which will lead visitors around Avon Heath Country Park. An adventure through woods and across heathland is lined up for eager explorers and there will be a number of clues laid out for visitors to unravel the wildlife riddles.

An ideal way to spend the day whilst enjoying Dorset cottage holidays during the winter season, the Winter Wildlife Survival Trail costs just £2.80 per person and can be done at anytime between 11am and 3pm. The meeting point is at Heathland Discovery Centre.
