The town of Bridport is undergoing a revamp to make it one of the greenest towns in Dorset, and work has begun on the site this week.
An oasis will soon be found right in the heart of Bridport which is sure to be enjoyed by locals and those enjoying Dorset cottage holidays in the future. A variety of schemes are in the early stages of development, including the addition of new cycle paths, a wildlife haven and a green breathing space.
Diggers have already started on the creation of the cycle path, laying road surfaces to allow construction traffic to begin building a bridge between Asker Meadows, the New Zealand site and the town centre.
The second step of the revamp will begin at Asker Meadows in November where 420 trees will be planted by the local community, including the tree varieties hawthorn, blackthorn, rowan, oak, hazel and silver birch.
Once finished, this delightful public open space and cycle track will give holidaymakers even more reason to visit Bridport when staying in Dorset.
