Getting around the New Forest could soon be made much easier after plans were announced to cut traffic in the area, with improvements to be made on bus and rail routes.
The National Park Authority is hoping that these new developments will help decrease the amount of traffic in the area, something that will come as good news to both locals and those hoping to spend a holiday in New Forest cottages soon. The Department of Transport has given the NPA nearly £4 million to spend on improvements, all of which should be completed by 2015, if not earlier.
Plans for improvement include the award-winning bus service New Forest Tour to be extended with the addition of a third bus as well as a new route that will serve Lepe Country Park.
It is also hoped that even more people will take advantage of the great cycle networks and beautiful scenery available in the New Forest by getting on their bikes, something which many already choose to do whilst holidaying in the area.
