Two spacious attractive converted stone barns close to Dartmoor, on a 12 acre smallholding......

Situated down a quiet lane amid rolling and well-wooded countryside, the barns enjoy long southerly views to the Moorland Tors and are ideally placed for easy access to Devon's many attractions. The Dartmoor National Park boundary and spectacular Lydford Gorge (National Trust) are a 10 minute drive away, and a superb stretch of the North Cornwall coastline from Tintagel to Bude is about 45 minutes. The ancient market town of Okehampton (ruined castle, visitor centre, 18 hole golf course and leisure centre with swimming pool) is 6 miles, and Exeter, Launceston, Tavistock and Plymouth are all within comfortable driving distance.

For the active there is immediate access to excellent walks, and a 10 mile cycle route (bikes for hire) is only 2 miles away. Alternatively take the Dartmoor Railway from Okehampton to Meldon Viaduct from where there are superb views of Meldon Reservoir Dam and the Dartmoor landscape. There is plenty of coarse fishing available locally and riding stables on the edge of Dartmoor, 6 miles away.

The nearby village of Bridestowe has a local pub and a shop, which will deliver groceries.

Accommodation

The two cottages at Way Barton have been tastefully converted from 200 year old stone farm buildings. They combine good facilities with elements of the barn's original character. Each cottage has its own small garden area at the front, extending onto a large courtyard.

Crandford, named after the local stream, has the same fine southerly views as Lyd, and a particularly large main bedroom.

Entrance via a small porch into a tiled lobby. Large, L shaped sitting/dining room with oak dining table/chairs in separate area. Large, sunny farmhouse kitchen with circular breakfast table and southerly views. Downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs: 3 bedrooms, one large double with small colour TV/DVD and two twin bedrooms, all south facing. Bathroom/wc. with shower attachment to the bath.
