Situated within the city boundary and about a mile from Magdalen Bridge in the city centre, this substantial, architect designed, 1930's house with its mock Tudor façade, built using timbers from Wroxton Abbey estate, provides an ideal base from which to explore the oldest university city in Britain with its prestigious institutions (Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, Sheldonian Theatre, Bodleian Library) and historic university colleges. Also close by are the River Thames towpath (10 minutes' walk) and Iffley village with its Norman church. Further afield, there are many visitor attractions within easy driving distance - Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, Blenheim Palace, many pretty Cotswolds villages and Henley-on-Thames.

The owners of Wroxton House have endeavoured to retain the interior furnishings and features of a 1930's house while providing modern amenities. The bedrooms for example have blankets and eiderdowns that were fashionable at the time, although if guests prefer, duvets can be provided. Awarded a Visit Britain 3 Star grading, the house is comfortable and well equipped with light, spacious rooms, original oak flooring downstairs and an impressive oak staircase.
