Situated in the picturesque village of Chilmark, close to the Dorset border and in an area designated of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is a delightful cottage of traditional design in a village street, bordered by a small winterbourne (stream). Lying some 11 miles to the west of Salisbury, in the valley of the River Nadder, Chilmark is a village of stone and thatched cottages with an excellent 14th century pub and a 12th century church. It is near here that the limestone for Salisbury's magnificent, 13th century, Gothic cathedral was quarried.
Among the many visitor attractions in the area are Stonehenge, Longleat, Stourhead Gardens, and the ruins of Wardour Castle. Tisbury, 2 miles away, has a main line station to London (Waterloo).
The surrounding countryside is some of the finest in Southern England and there are many attractive country villages and good country pubs to explore.
Winterbourne Cottage is charming, tastefully furnished, well equipped and has been awarded a 4 Star grading by Visit Britain. The sitting room is light and spacious with French windows, which open out onto a secluded rear garden.

"'The cottage is perfectly placed in a chocolate box Wiltshire village easily accessible from London. It feels like home from home, with each room decorated individually and the garden bursting with spring flowers and a gurgling brook. Some of the best country pubs are nearby, the Lamb at Hindon and Compasses Inn up the road, and plenty of National Trust treasures worth a visit, not least Stourhead. Entrance hallway. Spacious sitting room with fireplace, containing a fitted gas fire, and French doors to the garden. Well equipped, fitted kitchen and adjoining utility room. Separate dining room. Downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs: 2 bedrooms - master bedroom with zip and link bed, offering 6ft double or twin beds, and large walk-in cupboard. Twin bedroom. Bathroom/w.c. with shower attachment to the bath, heated towel rail and vanitory unit.
Attractive front garden and delightful, secluded, enclosed, rear garden with many shrubs and plants.
