| Situated along a country lane, on the edge of the village of Shrewton, Drovers' Barn looks out onto an idyllic 2 acre garden by the River Till, which is shared only with the owners, whose thatched cottage is some 20 yards away.
The location offers visitors a very central touring base, with easy access to the A303 (1 ½ miles away), making London 1 ½ - 2 hours' drive. Wiltshire's most famous pre-historic sites, Stonehenge and Avebury, the cathedral city of Salisbury and the World Heritage city of Bath are all within easy driving distance.
Between Shrewton and Salisbury to the south, a string of pretty villages nestle in the picturesque Wylye and Woodford valleys. There are many attractive cottages of stone, flint and chalk, traditional country pubs and good walking in the water meadows and on the chalk downland ridges above. There is an excellent golf course at High Post, near Amesbury and, next to Drovers' Barn, a hard tennis court, which visitors can hire. The village of Shrewton has local shops and several pubs.
Comments from a visitor to Drovers' Barn.
"Just a quick note to say we hugely enjoyed our visit to Drover's Barn last weekend. It's a lovely cottage in a very pretty garden situation, and the hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. The family loved it and we hope to return. Thanks for the last minute booking."
