Situated beside a quiet country lane just outside the village of Blakeney and with fine views of the River Severn across adjacent fields, The Stables provides a bright and comfortable base for enjoying the wide range of activities available in and around this attractive part of Gloucestershire. The location of the cottage close to the Forest of Dean gives easy access to the extensive network of walks and cycle paths in the area, including Offa’s Dyke Long Distance Footpath. Canoeing and fishing are available on the River Wye and carp fishing next door to the cottage; whilst a huge variety of places of interest are an easy drive away – Chepstow (castle and racecourse), Tintern Abbey and Symond’s Yat Rock, as well as the cathedral cities of Gloucester and Hereford, the Brecon Beacons and the Cotswolds.
The Stables has been thoughtfully converted to include some of the original beams and woodwork, and a particularly large and light kitchen/dining area – a welcoming cottage to return to at the end of the day’s activities.
