The Old Forge Cottage. The double bedroom is stylishly decorated and furnished.

This is a truly delightful Grade II listed cottage, skillfully restored from an old forge and set in the grounds of a country house in the Wylye Valley village of Heytesbury, approx. half an hour’s drive from the cathedral city of Salisbury and about 40 minutes from the World Heritage, Georgian city of Bath, with its many architectural splendours and state-of-the-art spa complex.

The Old Forge Cottage provides an ideal base for exploring this part of southern England; Longleat (Marquess of Bath’s stately home and safari park), Stonehenge and Stourhead (world famous gardens laid out in the 18th century) are no more than 20 minutes’ drive while the New Forest, Cotswolds and South Dorset coast are all reachable in an hour. The market town of Warminster provides for all local shopping needs and has a rail service to London, Waterloo. This part of Wiltshire also boasts some stunning countryside especially along the Wylye valley, and there are a number of excellent village pubs within a 10 mile radius. Heytesbury itself has two pubs within walking distance of the cottage, a small PO stores and a church.

The Old Forge Cottage is to a very high specification throughout and provides spacious living and sleeping accommodation for couples or a small family. There is a gated, gravelled garden area with barbecue to the rear of the cottage and visitors are welcome to use the owner’s hard tennis court by arrangement. N.B. shallow pond with fish to the front of the cottage - small children must be supervised.
