Standing in the grounds of the owners' 17th century Grade II listed cottage, The Creamery is an impressive oak timber clad barn which, until recently, was used for making a local cheese. Its conversion into spacious, high quality holiday accommodation has been carefully researched and it now provides a delightful country retreat in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the borders of Surrey and Sussex.

A stay at The Creamery is a chance to immerse yourself in country life; the owners run an interesting 10 acre smallholding with geese, a few pigs and bantam chickens and make a vintage Sussex cyder, using the champagne method, which has received high praise in the BBC's Food & Drink programme and from Jancis Robinson in the Financial Times.

From The Creamery there are marvellous opportunities for walking in the private woodland surrounding the property with direct access to Black Down (National Trust), which at 917ft., offers far-reaching over the Sussex countryside. Visitors also have the use of the owner's hard tennis court. For keen golfers there are courses at Chiddingfold (2 miles) and Shillinglee (1 1/2 miles), while for keen fishermen, day tickets are available on local waters. Other sporting activities in the area include polo at Midhurst and racing at Goodwood. The area has some fine historic houses and gardens, including Petworth and Winkworth Arboretum and a number of very good village pubs and restaurants within a short drive. Haslemere (4 miles), Petworth (8 miles) and Midhurst (9 miles) are the nearest small towns, with Haslemere providing a 50 minute rail link to London.

The Creamery is ideal for two families wishing to spend a holiday together, but is also suitable for a smaller party out of season when the lower pricing becomes applicable. The accommodation is practical, light and very spacious with attractive oak flooring and leaded light windows. Fittings and furnishings are to high specifications (eg. heated towel rails and power showers). The very large open plan living room, which comprises the whole of the 1st floor, is a feature of the accommodation.

The Creamery has been awarded a 4 star grading by Visit Britain.
