With its origins in the 18th century, this is an enchanting cottage surrounded by its own secluded garden within the grounds of the owner's Georgian farmhouse.
The Lodge is conveniently located, being just over a mile from the waterfront at Itchenor (pretty sailing village with good pub) and about 2 miles from the beach at West Wittering. There is much to see and do in the area - sailing at Itchenor and Bosham, birdwatching in Chichester Harbour, walking on the South Downs Way. The cathedral city of Chichester with its Festival Theatre is a 10 minute drive while Goodwood, with its increasingly busy calendar of events, Petworth House, Arundel Castle and the naval dockyard at Portsmouth (home to HMS Victory & The Mary Rose) are all within easy driving distance.
Refurbished by its owners to an excellent standard The Lodge is 'bijou' with simple but very pretty décor, lots of helpful, personal touches and plenty of attention to detail. Being some 100 yards from the main house it affords privacy to its guests.
Comments from previous visitors to The Lodge.
"The cottage was up to and beyond the brochure description and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were most helpful." Norman Emms, June 2007
"Just to say that we loved our stay in The Lodge a couple of weeks ago. Delightful cottage, v. attractively furnished and so thoughtfully and well-equipped - a real home from home" Anthony and Diana King, July 2007
