| Speedscroft provides the ideal venue for a holiday on the Sussex coast. Situated along a quiet country lane, it is only a mile from the beach at West Wittering which becomes a long expanse of sand at low tide with 100 acres of foreshore behind. This is a mecca for windsurfers and a hire club is available.
A little further afield Chichester Harbour is an ideal spot for birdwatching, while Chichester's Festival Theatre and cathedral are well worth a visit. Alternatively, you can spend a day at the races at Goodwood, enjoy the art treasures of Petworth House or visit imposing Arundel Castle. At Portsmouth, the naval dockyard is custodian to H.M.S. Victory and The Mary Rose.
Built in the 1930s, Speedscroft still retains elements of that era e.g. bathroom and kitchen fittings. Light and spacious inside, it is maintained in very good order by its owners. One of its main attributes is the very large, well-kept garden, extending to over an acre, which provides a wonderful space, including an area with swings, for children to play in. For keen horticulturalists Speedscroft's garden also contains a wide range of plants and flowering shrubs bordering the the large lawned areas. Ample garden furniture is provided.
