Completely refurbished to a high standard, this listed, Georgian flint cottage is situated to the south side of a large 18th century country house, 2 miles from the centre of the walled cathedral city of Chichester and close to the little village of East Lavant with its Saxon church. There are unimpaired rural views from the cottage across the Lavant Valley to the Goodwood race course on the South Downs and, for keen walkers and cyclists, a network of foot and bridlepaths close by,with access to the South Downs Way.
Chichester itself is steeped in history going back to Roman times, while the main parts of the cathedral are some 900 years old. Chichester also has a flourishing theatre and a summer festival. Historic houses and museums in the area include Goodwood, Uppark, Petworth, Fishbourne Roman Palace, as well as H.M.S. Victory and the Mary Rose in Portsmouth. There is sailing at Itchinor and Bosham, horse racing at Goodwood and Fontwell and easy access to the south coast beaches at East and West Wittering and Bognor Regis.
Approached by a long private drive, South Cottage has its own parking area and entrance and offers accommodation of an extremely high standard, graded 4 star by Visit Britain. It is furnished and equipped very much as a home and a complimentary bottle of champagne awaits visitors' arrival.

Fitted kitchen in limed oak with spacious dining area and French windows to a terrace. 4 steps lead to upper ground floor level with shower room/w.c./utility room and twin bedroom with French windows onto a verandah. On the first floor: 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin and a bathroom/w.c.
Partly enclosed, private, south facing garden adjoining fields with paved terraces and lawn - safe for children.
