Set in a commanding position on the edge of a small hamlet on the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire, Saxons Tryst enjoys panoramic views over the Blackmore Vale. Its attractive, private garden with delightful secluded seating, together with the rural surroundings, give it a very pleasant, tranquil feel. There are walks through particularly pretty countryside in the immediate area but for anyone wishing to explore further afield the choice of attractions is practically limitless – the cathedral city of Salisbury, Regency Bath, the Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury (famous for steep Gold Hill), Cheddar Gorge and numerous historic houses and gardens such as Stourhead (NT), Longleat, Montacute and Barrington Court (NT). For aircraft enthusiasts RNAS Yeovilton (with Concorde 002) is an easy drive. To the South lies the superb Dorset coast, offering wonderful cliff walks and beautiful hidden coves.

Whilst retaining some rather charming features of its 1970’s origins the house has been tastefully modernised with a fitted kitchen and stylish bath and shower rooms. The large sitting room is upstairs to take advantage of the views from the large picture windows, which also make this room exceptionally light. On this level a long balcony leads from the landing and because the house is built into a hill, there is access via the utility room beyond the kitchen to the upper garden.

Saxons Tryst has a very warm and spacious feel and is thoroughly recommended as a comfortable base in this particularly interesting and scenic area.
