Built in the early 1900's, as a country gentleman's residence in the Arts and Crafts Style, Rowbrook House occupies one of the most stunning positions in the West Country. The house faces South and overlooks the valley of the River Dart, 350 feet below. From the terrace there is no sign of human habitation but the surrounding hills and ancient woods contain a wealth of wildlife. There is direct access from the garden to the Moor below, and thence to the river.

This is an immensely peaceful place, yet is within five minutes' drive of Poundsgate with a good local pub and only 15 minutes away from a market town and the A38. Exeter, Plymouth and the coast are all about 45 minutes by road.

All the usual country activities can be arranged, including riding and guided walks (details from the owner). In particular there is good and varied game fishing nearby at very reasonable cost. Llama trekking and private falconry experience can also be arranged - pre-booking essential.

Entrance through oak door from gravel courtyard. Outer lobby with w.c. Large farmhouse kitchen with Aga and calor gas cooker. Breakfast area. Archway through to large dining room with open fire. Hall and further w.c. Comfortably furnished sitting room with South facing windows and woodburning stove. Sunny garden room with large windows affording magnificent views. Door to the garden. Oak stairs lead to the landing and a corridor giving access to four bedrooms all on the South side of the house; one with zip and link bed (offering choice of 6ft double or twin), wash basin; one double with wash basin; one twin with wash basin and one further double with open fire and en suite bathroom/w.c. Further bathroom with shower above bath. Separate w.c.

Rowbrook House is available for letting during the summer months of July and August. When the house is let, The Cabin (H550), is used as as the owner's temporary residence. The Cabin is available from Easter to mid October but is not available in July and August when the house is let out.
