Rose Tree Cottage is very well-sited in the curve of wooded hills and open pastures on the edge of the Forest of dean, and has a warm, welcoming feel. Visitors have direct access through the owner`s land to wonderful walks; and there is a huge variety of activities and places of interest within easy reach. For the outdoor enthusiast both the Severn and Wye rivers offer a wide range of sporting opportunities such as fishing, canoeing and even (at the right time) riding the Severn Bore! The Forest of Dean itself is full of historical remnants of industrial archaeology as well as attractive landscapes; and further afield but still within a comfortable day`s exploration are the cathedral cities of Hereford and Gloucester, Border castles such as Monmouth and Chepstow, and of course the Cotswolds with lovely stone villages and magnificent National Trust properties. The nearest town, Newnham on Severn, provides a range of local shops and is well worth visiting for its well-preserved Georgian buildings.
Rose Tree Cottage provides homely, comfortable and very light accommodation in a private setting with attractive grounds – a peaceful haven in this interesting and beautiful area.
