Peacefully situated in a tiny South Dorset hamlet, Piper’s Cottage is one half of a very attractive, Grade II listed, thatched cottage. It has been beautifully refurbished to a very high standard and is perfectly located for a wide range of activities and interesting places to visit. For the active there are many footpaths and cycleways through lovely country (one path is immediately outside the garden gate), and the famous Jurassic Coast features of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are only ten miles away, while both Salisbury and the New Forest are readily accessible for a day out. Closer places of interest include Cloud’s Hill (home of Lawrence of Arabia), Hardy’s Cottage and the superb Athelhampton House; and both Blandford and Dorchester are well worth visiting.
Considerable care and attention to detail has been lavished on Piper’s Cottage. Inside you’ll find muted Farrow & Ball colours, carefully chosen fabrics and furnishings and high spec. kitchen and bathroom fittings, making this a very special place to stay.
Comments from previous visitors:
The cottage is simply exquisite. The photos don't do it justice. Everything is brand new and it's so cosy. The owner is friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive. The cottage has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard. It is homely, cosy and perfect for the 'get away from it all' holiday. As soon as you walk out of the cottage you have a variety of walks which take you cross country. The wood fire was splendid and we enjoyed chilling out with a glass of wine in front of it after a hard days trekking. The kitchen is well equipped, new and is also well laid out. We have always taken holidays abroad but after this experience renting cottages is now high on the agenda.Sue Hill, February 2012
Pipers Cottage has been refurbished to an incredibly high standard and we felt rather privileged to be the first guests to stay since it's refurbishment. It is like a luxury home from home, beautifully and tastefully furnished to that of a 5 star luxury hotel. The kitchen was beautiful and incredibly well equipped as well as spotlessly clean. The owner has clearly devoted a significant amount of time to ensure that every corner of the cottage is luxurious and her attention to detail was second to none. With a large wood fire in the lounge, it was perfect for romantic meals in front of the fire. The bedrooms were both elegantly stylish and very comfortable. Overall, we give Pipers cottage 10 out of 10 for location, the beautiful cottage, and the warm hospitality of its owner.Clive Winterford, January 2012
