The cottage is just outside the village of Lower Lydbrook (shop and PO) and there are pubs and a restaurant within walking distance. The wide variety of attractions of the Forest of Dean and surrounding area are easily accessible: Tintern Abbey, Symonds Yat, Chepstow and Monmouth Castles are an easy drive, as are the cathedral cities of Gloucester and Hereford . Those keen on outdoor pursuits have an almost limitless choice; this is tremendous walking and cycling country, with fishing and canoeing on the Wye available nearby.

From the front windows, Pelham Cottage has something of the feel of an eagle`s eyrie: at the rear a large conservatory leads to an exceptionally tranquil garden, and above the property on the steep hillside is a small, private wood with paths and resting areas - a really attractive feature. Inside, there is a definite `cottage` feel - cosy and comfortable - with an unexpectedly large (and luxurious!) bathroom, and a really bright, inviting conservatory/dining room at the back.
