Nestling in a large and peaceful garden beside an ancient Devon lane, Orcheton Mill is truly delightful. This pretty and comfortable house is perfectly located in the heart of the popular South Hams, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) containing some of the very best coves and coastal walks in the country. Wonwell Beach at the mouth of the River Erme is about two miles and has large areas of fine sand; to the East and within easy driving distance are attractive towns and villages – Modbury (good range of local shops), Kingsbridge, Salcombe (famous for sailing), Totnes and Dartmouth; and beautiful stretches of coast and beach such as Bigbury Bay, looking out to Burgh Island where Agatha Christie stayed and wrote. Further afield, the almost endless - and very varied – attractions of the region are also accessible: Plymouth is about 40 minutes by car, Exeter about an hour. Mysterious and rugged Dartmoor is close by – a whole new world waiting to be explored.
Visitors to Orcheton will also want to spend time in the spacious yet cosy old house, or perhaps sitting out on the attractive patio or by the pond. There is an apple orchard on a steep slope and a large field where dogs can be safely exercised. Whether full of activity or quietly relaxing, a holiday in this lovely place is a ‘not-to-be-missed’ experience.

Outside: very attractive private garden with a variety of areas including patio, pond, leat (with original millwheel), orchard and further 2-acre field. (NB children must be supervised).
