Situated at the entrance to Clearwell Castle, North Lodge is an enchanting 'Hänsel and Gretel' cottage in the Gothic style and has been decorated, furnished and equipped to a very high standard by its owners.

On the edge of the attractive village of Clearwell (good pubs/restaurants) the cottage is within easy reach of all the amenities of this lovely part of the world - the Forest of Dean itself, with its beautiful scenery and walks, Chepstow Castle, the Wye Valley (Tintern Abbey and Symonds Yat are both well worth a visit) and further afield the fine farming communities of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

North Lodge is built into the Castle's outer walls, some 100 metres from the main building. Extensively and tastefully refurbished by its present owners, it has unusually shaped rooms and a very attractive garden with views over the Castle grounds and makes a delightful place to stay.

Entrance porch. Kitchen with Aga type (Rayburn) cooker, Belfast sink and fitted wood units. Sitting room with woodburner and double sofa bed (occasional use/alternative sleeping only). Superb conservatory with dining table/seating for 6 and fine views. Downstairs bathroom/w.c. with white roll-top bath and hand shower attachment. Separate utility area. Steep stairs to landing. Unusual and very attractive double bedroom suite with dressing area and 5ft double bed on gallery above (NB limited headroom). Second bedroom with 2 single beds.

Attractive, partly walled garden with paved patio, barbecue and grassy banks. Access to own driveway from Castle drive.
