Dating from 1769 and built by John Wood the Younger, Margaret's Buildings is a charming pedestrian street of small shops, bistros and apartments, conveniently situated between The Circus and Royal Crescent (see bottom picture), two of the best known examples of Georgian architecture.

Bath is one of the most beautiful places to visit in England and was deservedly designated a World Heritage site in 1987. Surrounded by stunning countryside it has a unique heritage: its Roman Baths with natural hot springs and its elegant Georgian architecture with buildings of golden sandstone.

The city has an abundance of attractions, most of which are within walking distance of Margaret's Buildings. Visitors can bathe in the natural, warm, mineral waters in the new spa complex, which also offers a full range of treatments. There are numerous museums within Bath and several National Trust properties a few miles distant. Delightful shops and galleries, many independently owned, will tempt you with their unique range of items. A centre for antiques, art and other collectables and for its literature and music festivals, it boasts an excellent Georgian theatre, The Theatre Royal, and has a beautiful 16th century abbey. Bath is a place of pavement cafes, craft markets, historic pubs, street theatre, intimate bistros and chic restaurants.

Within easy driving distance of Bath are the Cotswolds, the Kennet and Avon Canal, Bradford-upon-Avon, Cheddar Gorge, Wells, Glastonbury and Bristol.

Margaret's Buildings Apartment has been graded 4 Star by Visit Britain.
