This redundant barn (in the same ownership as H176, The Old Pumphouse) was converted in 2008 to create large, airy and enormously attractive living spaces. Approached from a country lane via a short private drive, Lodge Barn`s courtyard and mellow sandstone façade present an immediate welcome. Surrounded by fields and woodland in a lovely rural setting on the edge of the Forest of Dean, it is within easy reach of the many and varied attractions of the area. This is unrivalled country for walking, cycling and riding; and all types of water sports are available on the rivers Wye and Severn. The Welsh Border castles and many other historic buildings are easily reached; and the cathedral city of Gloucester, and the Cotswolds, are interesting destinations for a day`s excursion.
Lodge Barn affords its guests an immediate sense of space – large rooms and huge windows blur the boundaries between inside and out. It is extremely comfortable, equipped to the highest standards (Visit Britain 4 stars) and offers a tranquil and very individual base for a holiday in this delightful area.
