Situated in the tiny creek-side hamlet of Point near Devoran, this superbly appointed cottage is positioned to take full advantage of the tremendous views down the river Carnon towards Restronguet Creek. At high tide, sipping a drink on the window seat in the sitting room, visitors might well think that they were actually afloat.
The setting is tranquil yet the cottage is within an easy drive of many of Cornwall’s best attractions. Falmouth, 6 miles away, offers everything a sailor desires along with sandy beaches and good restaurants. The attractive county town of Truro, with its cathedral and fine Georgian architecture, is only three miles away. The famous Eden Project is less than an hour’s drive, as are several of Cornwall’s finest gardens (Heligan, Trelissick and Lanhydrock to name but three); as well as Land’s End, the Lizard Peninsula and the countless beautiful beaches and magnificent stretches of the South West Coastal path. The north Cornish coast is only 40 minutes drive. Closer to home there is also much to explore in and around the Fal or Helford rivers and the Roseland peninsula.
The owners have taken enormous care in upgrading Lion Cottage to a very high standard. It offers truly luxurious accommodation for up to four people in three bedrooms in a magical waterside setting, with views out to the creek from almost every room.
Accommodation
Entrance to porch and thence to dining room. Separate very well-equipped kitchen. Archway to sitting room with French windows leading out on to decking and bow window overlooking the water (panaromic views down the creek). A few steps off the dining room lead to a double bedroom with king size bed and a shower room/wc. Stairs (NB open on one side) to 1st floor. Two bedrooms, one with adjacent twin beds and one with zip/link bed offering choice of 6 foot double or twin beds. Separate bathroom/wc.
Outside: terrace overlooking the water. Steps down to lower slipway and barbecue area on foreshore.
