Situated in a village setting in the rural heart of Dorset, Homelea has been sensitively refurbished and modernised, whilst retaining much of its original character and charm. This part of Dorset boasts unspoilt, dramatically contrasting landscapes. Explore the banks of the River Stour as it passes through the low lying Blackmore Vale, experience the magnificent views from Dorset's great chalk ridges, Hambledon Hill, Win Green, Bulbarrow, Melbury Beacon; visit the nearby ancient Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury and the Georgian market town of Blandford. Alternatively spend a day exploring the Dorset World Heritage coastline, a 30-40 minute drive to the south.

Marnhull itself offers easy access for walkers onto the "The Hardy Way" and has a useful range of local shops and two pubs. Featured in the novels of Thomas Hardy, it is known as Marlott in Tess of the D'Urbervilles and is the fictional birthplace of Tess, the novel's main character.
