| The cabin consists of 1 large room (18' x 9'9"), divided into kitchen/dining and sitting/sleeping areas, with shower and caravan-type lavatory accessible from inside. The sofa in the sitting area converts to 1 double bed. Air beds are available where singles are required - please bring own bed linen/sleeping bags. There is a wood fire (logs supplied). The cabin is equipped for 2 but space is available for a tent (supplied) for up to 2 children (not toddlers) by arrangement. There is a barbecue set on the balcony and we can promise you some unforgettable memories, sitting out in the scented dusk of a (hopefully!) warm summer evening. |

In its accommodation this is quite unlike any of the other properties in our brochure. Though clean, bright and well maintained by its owner, its facilities may reasonably be described as basic, yet its isolated position and superb outlook make it a true hideaway and for these reasons, well worth including.
Perched on a plateau at 850ft., with breathtaking views of the river below and the surrounding moors, the cabin is in a uniquely privileged location. Hidden from the main house and from public view, it is set in its own private orchard with separate access directly onto the Moor below and thence to the river.
Sitting on the balcony the visitor can see no sign of human habitation and is aware only of the sound of the river far below and the occasional mewing call of the buzzards. At night owls, foxes and badgers are active in the ancient woods, and heron and wild duck are frequent evening passers-by.
This place exudes tranquility, yet is within 5 minutes' drive of Poundsgate with a good local pub, and within 15 minutes' of a market town and the A38. Plymouth, Exeter and the coast are each about 45 minutes away.All the usual country activities can be arranged, including riding and guided walks (details from the owner). In particular there is good and varied game fishing nearby at very reasonable cost.
The Cabin is available from Easter to mid October but is not available in July and August when the main house is let out.
