| Granny`s Cottage is situated right in the middle of the small village of Holbeton in Devon`s South Hams, an area which includes some of the most beautiful coast and countryside in Britain.
The cottage is ideally placed for all the wide variety of attractions in this part of the country. There are lovely walks immediately around, with the Erme Estuary and the South West Coastal Path close by. Good surfing can be found at the mouth of the river and for smaller children, an immense choice of rocky coves and sandy beaches, Mothecombe Beach being just 10 minutes by car. Plymouth is a 30-minute drive (Maritime Museum, The Barbican and Hoe, and many excellent shops and restaurants); and for an unusual destination, try Burgh Island (crossing by sea tractor at high tide) with its famous Art Deco hotel and Agatha Christie connections. Inland, Dartmoor, home to rocky tors and beautiful streams, is a short drive away.
Apart from a more recent extension at the back, Granny`s Cottage dates from the 16th century and is a delightful cob and thatch, Grade II listed building, typical of the period. The owners have sympathetically restored and updated it, leaving many of its original features and retaining its considerable charm whilst creating a comfortable and surprisingly spacious home from home.
