Grange Cottage is the epitome of a true 'hideaway'. At the end of a woodland track, tucked away behind an old manor house (built in 1656), and in complete seclusion, this beautifully renovated cottage is situated at the north edge of the Blackdown Hills on the borders of Somerset, Devon and Dorset, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
For those who can drag themselves away from its peace for a few hours, there are many interesting places to visit nearby. Forde Abbey, Cricket St Thomas, Montacute House and Barrington Court are a short drive away, and the coast at Lyme Regis is approximately 35 minutes by car: but visitors may choose just to wander all day through extensive woods, perhaps ending up at one of the excellent local pubs.
Originally the gamekeeper's cottage for the Estate, Grange Cottage has been extended and lavishly modernised inside, whilst carefully retaining every ounce of its charm. The two upstairs balconies afford views over different corners of the large and well-maintained garden and surrounding woodland, and there is a very inviting terrace with wooden tables protected by parasols, together with a gas barbecue and firepit.

Comments from previous visitors to Grange Cottage.
"We spent such an enjoyable Monday to Friday break here I felt that I must contact you to say so! The cottage and its surroundings are excellent. The standard and quality of provision is very high indeed...just perfect in fact... and certainly made all the difference to our stay." Mrs M, November 2006.
"This is a rare delight, hidden among trees, at the end of a private drive, secluded and well away from the sound of traffic. We thought it an out and out delight and would rate it among our ten favourite properties in this guide." Bryn Frank, writing in The Good Holiday Cottage Guide, 2008.
"We stayed in this really lovely cottage - a real gem, surrounded by a virtual nature reserve! The house is incredible and with the terraces and balconies it must be a delight when the weather is better. The hostess Pamela provides everything you can think of - even toothpaste if someone forgets this!" Daniel Kaminski, February 2008
