This green oak, timber framed cottage, recently built to a traditional design, stands in the garden of the owners’ home. It is intended as a small but very comfortable country retreat with immediate access onto footpaths leading to the Pilgrims’ Way and North Downs Way, which end at Canterbury yet is only a few minutes’ drive from the M20 motorway, which links the M25 (London orbital route) with the Channel Tunnel and the ferry port of Dover.

The surrounding area offers enormous scope to its visitors. Leeds Castle (5 minutes), Igtham Mote (N.T), Hever Castle, Chartwell (N.T.), Sissinghurst (N.T) and the historic, naval dockyards at Chatham are some of the castles, gardens and stately homes within an hour’s drive. The cathedral city of Canterbury and North Kent coastline are also easily accessible via the M2 motorway. Maidstone, Kent’s county town, providing good shopping facilities, is 2½ miles.

Inside, “Cottage in the Wood” has all the ambience and character of an older dwelling, exposed timer and brickwork, flagstone floors and an inglenook style fireplace, these features being combined with the ease and convenience of modern kitchen and bathroom fittings.

Ground floor double bedroom and en suite bathroom/wc with independent shower above the bath. Open tread, 'paddle steps' from dining area lead up to a sleeping platform with 2 single futon beds (NB limited headroom).
