Set amid peaceful, rolling farmland, within the grounds of the owners' property and close to the western edge of Dartmoor, Hilly Field Barn is a recent, high quality conversion of a 200 year old stone 'linhay'. It is perfectly located for exploring this lovely part of Devon with the River Tavy just below, the moor just a few minutes away on foot, and superb walks and rides all around. The famous Garden House is close by, as are Morwellham Quay, Buckland Abbey (once home to Sir Francis Drake) and historic National Trust properties such as Cotehele. All the attractions of Plymouth and the beaches of South Devon and both Cornish coasts are an easy drive. Yelverton, 2½ miles, caters for local shopping needs while Tavistock, the 2004 Market Town of the Year, is 8 miles away.
The barn is all at ground floor level. Bright, well equipped and comfortable, it provides a good base for a relaxing holiday in this tranquil part of the West Country.
