Church Farm is situated in a quiet lane on the edge of St Briavels, perched high on a limestone plateau overlooking the River Wye in the heart of the ancient Forest of Dean. Skilfully and sensitively converted to a very high standard from a Grade II listed, 16th century barn, Church Farm Cottage stands opposite the main farmhouse and forms one side of the courtyard of this attractive and ancient smallholding. There are walks in all directions and visitors have direct access across the owners' land through woodland onto local bridlepaths. Alternatively you can enjoy a game of table tennis in the large barn adjacent to the cottage.

The local area offers a wide range of outdoor pursuits - cycling using the marked trails in the Forest, canoeing at Monmouth & Symonds Yat, fishing on the Wye - as well as an abundance of visitor attractions - Tintern Abbey, the Forest of Dean Steam Railway, Symonds Yat, Clearwell Caves, Puzzle Wood & Chepstow Castle. Within easy driving distance are Hereford and Gloucester cathedrals, Bristol, the Cotswolds and the Welsh Brecon Beacons.

St Briavels itself has an ancient history - once used as a centre for making cross-bows, it still boasts a Norman church and a moated castle (100 yards or so from Church Farm), whose grounds are open to the public. The village also has two pubs - "The George" is particularly recommended.
