Broughtons Cottage has been created from part of a fine grade II listed Georgian country house, which sits high above the River Severn enjoying open views in all directions. With its own private entrance, it offers a high standard of accommodation, graded 4 stars by Visit Britain, while retaining much of its historic character. Guests are welcome to enjoy over two acres of Broughton’s lovely gardens, with herbaceous borders, vegetable garden and orchard and, by arrangement, play on the hard tennis court.

If you are tempted to leave Broughtons Cottage, which is situated on the border between the Forest of Dean and the Vale of Gloucester, the area offers something for everyone. In one direction guests can explore the Royal Forest of Dean with its ancient woodland, excellent walking and cycling paths or try fishing or canoeing on the River Wye. Discover its important mining history and many craft and artist studios or seek out one of its many local food producers and take home something delicious. In the other direction lies Regency Cheltenham, perfect for shopping, festivals and architecture while the cathedral cities of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester are all within an easy day’s exploration. Nearby is the picturesque riverside village of Newnham-on-Severn which offers craft shops, pubs, post office and a village store while in Westbury the famous Court Garden is one of many National Trust properties within easy reach.

Broughtons Cottage offers high quality accommodation - equally suitable for couples or families with children, who will love this property, its large accessible garden, the free range hens, trampoline, tennis court and plenty of toys and books.
